In jest, I have often said: "The best way to offend someone is to have an opinion."
#1. I have noticed some people can not have a disagreement with someone and remain friends with that individual.
#2. I have noticed some folks view a discussion with two opposing sides as an argument.
Neither of these things ought to be so; especially among Christians.
Pride with a lack of security, in ones self and opinion produces the first observation. The second observation: I find hard to understand, but concerns me. Both observations I believe are due to a lack of maturity.
Good men can and will disagree. This is natural and even productive if done so in a respectful manner.
#1. Life would be boring if everyone always agreed on every little detail.
#2. Regardless of the subject matter we should expect some disagreement.
#3. All of us should be willing to make clarifications.
#4. Debate is not always unhealthy.
#5. We should not seek to be argumentative nor disrespectful.
#6. There are times in disagreement when separation is necessary (Amos 3:3).
#7. I have never met an individual who I agree with 100%.of the time.
